There’s no problem with wanting to build something big, but it seems the issue is how you go about it.

For example, I don’t know Mark Zuckerburg, but he just wanted to solve a problem for a certain community of people (students).

Jeff Bezos is the same — book readers. Difference is he got a massive advance from family in the beginning.

But the pattern in general for people who build something big is similar… they solve a problem for a niche community and then the VCs come into the picture - not the other way around.
