Thanks for clearing this up Matt. We often see many post stating various essentials for Data Science, such as SQL. I feel as though, as you have so greatly expressed, there are so many "it depends" situations with and I am beginning to realise that people (Including myself) must begin to take that into consideration when discussing the essential of our field.
