I learned to make the most of my days through fear of consequence. I’d usually wait until the moment everything was about to go tits up then out of nowhere my spidey senses would start tingling — “Shit! Chelsea is playing tonight, I can’t get a detention. Let me do the homework.”

Yup, I was the kid doing his homework ten minutes before class starts — sometimes even during the class.

This habit followed me into my work life. Strangely, people didn’t find it as amusing as they did in school, and nor did I. I attribute my receding hairline to the stress I was putting myself under to complete tasks in little time. The consequences have been served — I’m officially bald. But now I’ve got my act together: better late than never, eh?

You don’t have to go bald to learn your lesson. Here’s 7 techniques you could use to never run out of energy:

1. Wake up and sleep at the same time (including weekends)

People have random sleep patterns and wonder why they wake up feeling tired. It’s absurd. Look, I’m no sleep expert, but I’m pretty sure it’s common sense that predicting randomness is hard — just ask anyone who plays the lottery.
